Imposketch (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website imposketch.ioand the Imposketch mobile app (collectively, the “Service”). This page explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use the Service.

1. What Data We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Nickname— a display name you choose. No real name is required.
  • Avatar selection— the avatar icon you pick from our preset set.
  • Room activity— drawings you create, prompts you receive, votes you cast, and scores you earn during gameplay.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data— pages visited, room creation/join events, game mode selection, feature interactions, and referral source.
  • Device & browser info— IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and language preference.
  • Analytics — we use PostHog (self-hosted or cloud, depending on configuration) to track user interactions, page views, and feature usage. PostHog captures session recordings, click events, and device metadata. You can opt out via the Do Not Track browser setting or by contacting us.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Operate and maintain the game (rooms, matchmaking, leaderboards).
  • Improve the Service through analytics and usage patterns.
  • Detect and prevent abuse, cheating, or prohibited content.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.

3. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service:

  • Game data(drawings, scores, room records) — retained for up to 90 days after the last activity, then anonymized or deleted.
  • Analytics data(PostHog) — retained for up to 12 months.
  • IP logs— retained for up to 30 days for abuse detection and security.

4. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or California, you have the following rights under applicable data protection laws:

  • Right to access— request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification— request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)— request deletion of your personal data. This includes your nickname, avatar, room activity, and analytics records.
  • Right to restrict processing— request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability— request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to object— object to our processing of your data for analytics purposes.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use only essential cookies required for the game to function (session management, room state). PostHog analytics uses local storage and cookies to track sessions and identify returning users. You can opt out of analytics tracking by:

  • Enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser.
  • Using a privacy-focused browser extension.
  • Contacting us to request deletion of your analytics profile.

Imposketch is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately and we will delete it.
